Position Information Position/Rank Assistant Professor (Clinical) Department 00247 - Pathology City Salt Lake City, UT Track Non Tenure Track New Position to Begin 09/25/2023 Details The Department of Pathology at the University of Utah School of Medicine and ARUP Laboratories is inviting applications from individuals with a strong interest in building an academic career in Clinical Laboratory Bioinformatics.
We are seeking candidates with substantial experience in computational and machine learning techniques, particularly as they relate to clinical laboratory testing.
ARUP is a comprehensive, high-complexity reference laboratory that serves a diverse clientele.
Our clients include over half of the nation’s university teaching hospitals, children’s hospitals, major commercial laboratories, military and government facilities, and numerous community hospitals.
As a result, our laboratory receives a wide variety of specimen types and testing requests.
We provide an extensive range of testing options, encompassing both traditional techniques and specialized, esoteric testing in the field of laboratory diagnostics.
Applicants should hold either an MD, MD/PhD, or PhD degree.
MD candidates should be board-certified or eligible in anatomic or clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology.
PhD candidates should be board-certified or eligible in a clinical laboratory specialty.
The successful candidate will primarily focus on research within the newly established Institute for Research and Innovation in Diagnostic and Precision Medicine.
They will also have minor clinical service responsibilities at ARUP Laboratories and will be expected to contribute to our teaching missions.
