Entheos Academy is a K-8 charter school with 2 campuses on the west side of the Salt Lake Valley (Kearns and Magna).
This posting is for our MAGNA campus.
Entheos is a Service Learning school that uses the Expeditionary Learning Education model to focus on student achievement in three areas: Mastery of Knowledge and Skills, Character, and High-Quality Work.
We are seeking a Literacy Specialist to teach, inspire, motivate, and believe in students who have not yet mastered basic reading and writing skills and need Tier III support!
*Responsibilities*
* Teaching beginning reading and writing skills to primarily middle school students who are performing significantly below their grade level (Tier III).
These students may have Special Education or Multi-Language Learner needs.
* For those students who have IEP's, you will be delivering the specially designed ELA instruction under the supervision of the Special Education Teacher, to meet IEP goals.
* Coordinating with the administrators, Gen Ed.
teachers, MLL coordinator, and SpEd teachers to build out our MTSS school-wide structures.
* Progress monitoring and using data to inform instruction.
* Participating in IEP meetings.
* Training paraprofessionals to also provide Tier III literacy support to students.
* Understanding and becoming fully committed to the Entheos Charter, Mission, and Values.
* Intentionally building a positive school culture that evidences high expectations for service, excellence, and leadership.
* Modeling a commitment to on-going professional development by participating fully paid-for, off-site conferences and institutes.
*Qualifications*
* "Science of Reading" trained, preferably LETRS.
* A valid Professional Educator's License.
Could be in the field of Elementary Education, Special Education, or we are willing to consider other licenses if you are trained and competent in the Science of Reading.
* Ready and able to work creatively and collaboratively with faculty to plan curriculum and problem solve.

Pay: From $52,000.
