São Roque Substation, 30/15 kV   Pico Island, Azores - Portugal    On my return to Pico Island, almost 6 months from my last visit, it was possible to watch the Substation of São Roque in full operation, energizing all the MV power lines of the island, being the distribution made in two voltage levels: 15 kV and 30 kV. The energy have its origin in the Thermoelectrical Power Plant of Pico, from the 30 kV substation awarded in the other contract to the Consortium Siemens | WinPower, S.A. ongoing on this beautyful island. Both contracts are sharing the same Client: the Azorean electrical utility, EDA. The actual status of this project shows that the civil works are concluded. All the electrical installations are finished, as well. The Control System is actually monitoring all the energy flux and electrical parameters of the distribution lines, being possible to EDA to achieve a high level of excellence in the power quality supplied to their customers. The feeling of having this important mission acomplished is present, on me and on our fantastic team, from our Project Manager Nuno Santos, passing through our Site Manager ANTÓNIO RODRIGUES, not forgeting our EHS manager Sandra Madeira. This project has been permanently supported by our Administration, here represented by Marco Henriques and Luis Mendes, especially in the most difficult moments lived by the project's team, giving us the right directions to move forward. 🎄✨ WinPower, S.A., Christmas Activity with Associação Sol 🎅❤️ Every year at WinPower, S.A. we make it a priority to organize activities that give back to the community and, this Christmas season, we had the immense pleasure of spending a heartwarming evening with the children, young people, and dedicated staff of Associação Sol. We were joined by the talented author Magda Roque, who read her inspiring story, “The Giraffe with Heart-Shaped Spots”. The book tells the story of a unique giraffe who learns to embrace her differences, spreading a message of self-love and acceptance. At the end, each child was gifted with a copy of the book as a reminder of the day. Thanks to the generosity of our team, we were also able to provide food supplies and hygiene products to support the daily operations of Associação Sol. 🎁 Founded in 1992, Associação Sol is an institution that supports children and young people living with HIV/AIDS, as well as those in other vulnerable situations. Their holistic approach ensures that every child receives not only medical support but also emotional, educational, and social care, fostering a family-like environment that promotes affection, security, and a sense of belonging. Spending time with these incredible young people and devoted staff reminded us of the power of solidarity and kindness. It also highlighted the vital role that these organizations play and the importance of standing beside them to amplify their impact and reach.
