#ThankGodItsMonday At the recent LinkUnite Meetup at Affiliate Summit East, Ninfa Cabello mentioned that when they first started attending conferences for Madrivo, hiring booth babes to attract advertisers and affiliates was a common practice—that struck a chord with me. Back in 2010-11, we established a few ground rules, and my female leadership faced significant criticism in the Indian affiliate industry for it. I still remember all the bad reputation I received at the time. These rules still apply today, and I hope the criticism has lessened since then 🤞 - We don’t hire booth babes. - We don’t serve alcohol on office premises. - We don’t sponsor alcohol during conference hours or on conference premises. - We don’t sponsor our logo on steps or conference floors. - We don’t wait at agency offices for hours without appointments just to be seen or heard. - We don’t engage in kickbacks to media planners. Client Overview: A newly launched health and supplement brand partnered with us to establish a strong presence on TikTok Shop in the USA. Starting with no prior audience, brand recognition, or sales, our goal was to build visibility, trust, and revenue rapidly. Challenges: Zero TikTok Presence: As a brand new entrant on TikTok, there was no established follower base or prior engagement. Limited Brand Trust: Gaining audience trust was crucial to converting viewers into first-time customers. Intense Content Competition: The brand needed to stand out among established health and supplement brands with significant TikTok followings. Our Strategy: Shop Setup: Created an optimized, visually appealing TikTok Shop storefront designed for easy navigation and compelling product displays. Product Syncing from Shopify: Synced products directly from Shopify to TikTok Shop for streamlined inventory management and accurate product information. Listing & Review Import with SEO Optimization: Imported existing listings and customer reviews to establish initial credibility while enhancing listings with targeted keywords for greater visibility on TikTok Shop. Influencer Partnerships: Partnered with health-focused influencers to develop relatable, high-quality content that connected with health-conscious audiences. Targeted Advertising: Launched a precise ad strategy aimed at health-conscious users interested in wellness, supplements, and fitness, effectively driving traffic to the storefront. Content Creation: Produced educational and engaging videos that highlighted product benefits, wellness tips, and health guidance, helping build trust and generate interest. Most merchants only watch revenue during BFCM, but the stores crushing Q4 are tracking these 8 metrics instead: 1. Hour-by-Hour Email Performance  Watch open and click rates in real time. Is a subject line crushing it? Double down.  Is an email failing? Pivot fast. Don’t just send one message—find what resonates, use it again, and build on what’s working. 2. New List Growth  BFCM brings your highest traffic of the year, so make the most of it. Track how many new emails you’re capturing, ensuring you have ways to contact these visitors later. This isn’t just about this weekend’s sales—it’s about a pipeline for Q1 2025. 3. Offer Performance by Channel  Your 40% off might be killing it in email but barely moving the needle on SMS, or vice versa. Know this early and adjust your channel-specific messaging or offers in real-time. 4. Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) & Gross Margin  Keep an eye on CAC and gross margin during BFCM; high discounts shouldn’t completely erode your profitability. Make sure your spending aligns with long-term growth, not just short-term sales boosts. 5. Traffic Sources  BFCM can be an all-hands-on-deck moment for ads, social, email, and more. Watch which channels are driving real buyers vs. browsers, and shift your budget in real-time to double down on the channels with the best results. 6. YoY Benchmarks   Don’t just track revenue. Look at average order value, conversion rate, and emails collected compared to last BFCM to identify where you’re growing and where you might need to course-correct. 7. Conversion Rate by Channel/Page  Not all channels or pages convert equally. See where customers are falling off or converting best. Optimize those areas to capture as many conversions as possible. 8. Cart Abandonment Rate  Real-time cart abandonment tracking allows you to immediately engage customers who are close to purchasing but haven’t committed. Consider dynamic offers or retargeting for high abandonment rates. The beauty of BFCM is that you get multiple chances to adjust. If Friday’s offer isn’t landing, you have Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday, and even Giving Tuesday to try something new. Decide what your goal is—maybe you want to 2x revenue—and be ready to adjust to hit it.

$𝟰𝟵 𝗥𝗢𝗔𝗦! I see a lot of brands with very strong Amazon ROAS numbers today... maybe not $49 strong, but $10, $12, even $15.    A $15 return on ad spend is great.    But are brands celebrating too soon?    If a consumer searches for “(brand name) yellow pickleball paddles” on Amazon, they obviously want to buy yellow pickleball paddles from that brand.    They’ve done research... their intent is high... they click on an ad, without even realizing it’s an ad because it’s the product they were searching for.    That click is now a $0.30 PPC Amazon ad charge, but the consumer spent $50 on the paddles.    Nearly a $100 ROAS??    I wouldn't bring out the champagne just yet 😉    If driving people to search their name is part of their advertising campaign, then they’re winning.    But if they’re viewing this as incremental revenue on a new platform... that’s potentially not a win.    We need to be asking ourselves, 'If Amazon didn’t exist, would a consumer still be buying my product?'    I think too often we drive all this traffic to Amazon through TV media, retail stores, Facebook, TikTok....    Then we say, 'Look at this incremental lift our Amazon ads are creating!'    But how much of that incrementality actually lives within Amazon?    If you're bidding on your name and see a return.... question it... challenge it. Verify the success before you celebrate…. Bidding on your brand is important….not discounting that at all :) …it’s just usually not incremental.
