"Get to Know Omega Wind Behind the Scenes 🌬️🔧" We’re kicking off a series of posts that will bring you closer to who we are. Let’s dive into the daily life of our installation team! And we’re starting with a key role, without which no wind turbine could exist – the Turbine Installation Technician! 🌍💨 Technicians at Omega Wind are responsible for assembling wind turbines from the ground up. Step by step, they construct the entire structure – from preparing components to installing the tower and blades. Working at heights and in varying weather conditions requires precision and determination. ⚙️💪 Our technicians work on a 3/1 rotation system: three weeks of intensive work at sites across Europe, followed by a week of rest at home. 🛫🌍🏡 While spending weeks away from home can be challenging, the breathtaking views they encounter are a unique reward not available to just anyone. 🌅🌄 These challenges and one-of-a-kind experiences attracted Igor Fratczak, who decided to change his career after years of working as a barber. Here’s what he says about swapping scissors for tools: "It was quite a challenge for me, but the engaging atmosphere of the work and the great team made it all worthwhile. 💼 Improving the employee evaluation process was a task assigned to the new HR Specialist 💼 Initially, only 30% of employees were receiving evaluations, and the number of completed surveys barely reached one hundred. Fast-forward to the end of Q2 – BOOM! 💥 80% of the team evaluated! And in Q3? We surpassed 300 surveys! 🎉 How did we achieve such impressive results in such a short time? 🔹 Changing attitudes – tackling the myth that evaluations are just “snitching” on colleagues; 🔹 Subtle SMS reminders 😅 – a small detail, but mass reminders gave a significant “boost,” bringing in a wave of surveys; 🔹 Awareness of benefits – we proved that evaluations support development and aren’t just done “for the sake of it”; 🔹 1:1 as a development tool – when evaluations reveal areas for improvement, we organize individual meetings with managers to provide constructive feedback and help employees implement changes. Besides the increase in participation, we’re seeing that the team is more open to feedback and making adjustments that genuinely improve work quality. Such a drastic change in results shows that even small changes in communication and approach can make a huge difference. 🌟 Team Building – One Sandwich at a Time! 🌟| In Omega Wind's employee evaluation system, one of the questions asks: "Can you give an example of a situation where your Team Leader showed respect for the team?" We received one very unusual yet funny response to this question – "He shared his sandwich with me" 🥪 We believe that moments like these are crucial in creating a true team spirit and a great work atmosphere. Sometimes, showing how much you care about your colleagues only takes a piece of a sandwich.
