Life lesson: Time Management ✨️😇 Yesterday, I missed my bus 🚌 to Faisalabad from Lahore. Later on, I purchased another ticket for the next bus. But due to heavy fog and traffic, that bus was cancelled as well. So, I ended up buying a ticket for this morning instead. All of this happened because of poor time management. One thing I’ve experienced and learned from this whole scenario is that time management is incredibly important, not just at work but in all areas of life. I should have left home earlier to avoid the traffic, so I could have reached the terminal on time and caught the bus. We all struggle with time management. Let's take a few moments each morning to start the day with a plan. We all have the same amount of time—it’s not about having more time, it’s about using it effectively. Choices after the disastrous budget! 1- Leave Pakistan, if you have a choice 2- Take salary in cash 3- Don't fully disclose all assets in returns. These will eventually be taxed again even if you have built those by paying taxes 4- Never come in the tax net, if you are still outside the net. 5- Try to join any of the powerful groups that got income tax exemptions today. If you cannot do 1 to 5, then your home takes salary after payment of 50% income tax, 18% sales tax, FED will be just Rs 25 out Rs100.

Reality of a salaried employee in Pakistan You spend 16-20 years to educate yourself. You spend millions, and probably take loans/favors to fund it. You have a 2% chance to be employed at a leading company once you graduate. You work day and night for increments (10-15% annually) and expect a promotion after maybe 2-4 years if you perform well. Every year your tax increases by 5-15 % while inflation reduces your disposable income. Gradually after 10-15 years and post promotions, you reach a stage where government asks you to give 39% of your annual income to to the government (for nothing worthwhile in return). For the remaining 61%, you give sales tax of around 17% on every item in the market. Additionally, you pay property/car/toll tax and inflated utility bills to just live. From the remaining 40 odd % of annual salary, you manage your food, clothes, kids’ education, security, rent and entertainment. What is left eventually? Probably loans to cover your basic needs and household expenses. Do you save an invest for a brighter future? No because you don’t have anything left Do you sleep comfortably knowing you will progress? No because jobs are stagnant and salaries are low Do you think you utilised yourself well enough with quality education? No because others who go for entrepreneurship end up with more disposal income Do you foresee things settling down? No because inflation will take a hike and your net income will go down because increments will never match the inflation impact You become poorer every year while being salaried, unless you are lucky enough to progress quickly. Paying tax was and will never be an issue. Seeing unequal tax collection and lack of return on your high tax are depressing. White collar employees are the fairest and most qualified individials in the country. They are the brains behind success of companies in Pakistan. Government is Likely to increase the Minimum Wages of all Workers in all industries to 37000 PKR per Month. Certain unusual practices and Policies are being introduced in different organizations like 1. Increase in shift duty timings from currently 8 hours to 10 hrs shift per day. 2. No payment of OT pays. 3. Layoff employees on personal disliking 4. Reduction in Number of sick leaves , Casual leaves and Annual leaves. 5. Abolishing Gratuity Schemes etc 6. Leave Encashments not Allowed. All such Practices / Policies are against the laws.
