However, these hurdles can be overcome, unlocking the country's vast potential. Infrastructure woes hinder growth, but investments in digital infrastructure and innovative solutions can bridge the gap. Regulatory red tape stifles innovation, yet streamlining laws and creating a startup-friendly framework can facilitate progress. Talent acquisition and retention are crucial. Targeted education programs, competitive salaries, and a culture of innovation can attract and retain top talent. A risk-averse cultural mindset prevails, but promoting entrepreneurial role models and celebrating failures can foster a growth mindset. The ecosystem is also faced with external challenges like the global funding environment as it stands today. Attracting international investors requires showcasing success stories and leveraging global funding trends: impact investing, new tech like AI, sustainability, and emerging markets. Developing a robust investor network – venture capitalists, angel investors, and family offices – is vital and is maturing in the country. Apart from these, what country needs are genuine exit success stories. Enabling mergers and acquisitions, fostering IPOs, and celebrating exits are crucial for a thriving ecosystem. It has been 5 days since I withdrew the amount from Payoneer, but I have not received the funds yet. This delay is causing significant inconvenience and financial strain. The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) should take immediate action to address such issues and ensure timely processing of #internationalpayments. Additionally, the day I withdrew the amount, the conversion rate was different, and now it has changed. Clarity is needed on the current exchange rate for converting USD to Pakistani Rupees (PKR) as the PKR currency remains unstable. I would also like to understand how the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) and the Ministry of IT and Telecom Pakistan are handling such cases. This situation is impacting tech companies like ours and causing undue stress for our employees who rely on timely payments. To test out ideas about a new institution for Pakistan, I asked ChatGPT "What kind of university is required in Pakistan at its current stage of economic development?" Here is the response, . "An ideal university model for Pakistan’s current economic stage would blend technical education with practical experience, focus on research that addresses local issues, and support entrepreneurship. By emphasizing accessibility, industry alignment, and flexible learning, this university could empower students to drive economic development, support local industries, and build a stronger, innovation-driven workforce." Pretty much exactly in line, with what we at Knowledge Streams have been thinking about, as we steady ourselves to launch the Associate Degree in Computer Science Program. With time, our confidence in #AI generated responses will only grow. At which stage, we better be ahead of the curve!

Startups are risky, and as an engineer, when you join one, you have to accept the risk that comes with this. SadaPay - a promising startup laying off a substantial number of their workforce has been in the news lately. Regardless of where it happens in the world, startups are unpredictable, high risk ventures that rarely break out. So if you are an Engineer, you need to be aware that high risk means you can lose your job with no warning, and without it being your fault. You can earn and learn very quickly at startups in most cases, but you need to make sure you accept the uncertainty that comes with it. Overall, global tech job market is not on a good trajectory at the moment and the fact that new devs are entering local markets by tens of thousands each year, and experienced talent competing against them for similar roles makes for a hectic job search situation. Add to this that #copilots and other tools are closing the experience gap, companies do not need majority of their devs to have years of experience, the mix is changing, few experienced engineers and majority of new/mid-level engineers can produce solid outcomes. I know some people will disagree with this but in the boardrooms and during leadership meetings, these are the options being discussed. I hope those impacted find someplace to land soon but there is more qualified talent in the market today and it won’t be easy landing quickly. Taking the huge potential #Pakistan has and turning it into successful outcome has not been, and will not be a smooth journey, but there are companies/platforms that will come to market over next 6-12 months that have the potential to upset the incumbents. Hang in there, it always gets harder before it gets better.

So this post has come into lot of debate I also commented on this post and got lot of queries and questions via direct comments and LinkedIn DM so here I am sharing why we need to get our degrees attested or and as per the post why don't degrees come already attested Following points which I have personally researched and which I have gone through. 1) No Objection Certificate (NOC) HEC is an autonomous body it regulates Higher Education in Pakistan. Every university needs a first level NOC to start a university and moreover the university also requires program level separate NOC's for every academic program like a NOC for MBA, NOC for BS or any program. HEC regularly publishes open notices for different universities or programs who do not have NOC but such programs are still operating and what happens, those degrees will not be attested. So before taking admission, check the list of universities who have NOC from HEC 2) Foreign countries (US, Canada, Europe) still do not consider Pakistan university degree authentic and categorically says, Pakistani university degrees are not up the level of a their Higher education system so Pakistani students sometimes need to take some extra courses etc. 3) Also I agree that this attestation process has now become a revenue generation method and to be honest, HEC does not works effectively for upgradation of higher education system, lack of system for regulation. 4) HEC attestation portal is quite weak and gives late appointments, the system is not very digitised. 5) Strict and straight policy for name, DOB and other data which should be same on all documents (CNIC, passport, academic degrees). My name on CNIC and Passport is my full name Khabeer Ul Tanwir Ahmad Khan and on academic degrees is Khabeer Ul Tanwir so in order to get degree attestation and solve this issue, DSIF form should be used which can be downloaded from HEC website.
