"Now we are paying the 2200 mortgage and she is reaping the benefits of her credit being brought back up," the woman adds. The woman says she plans to "move forward with buying my own house," leaving her fiancé to deal with the other home. Reddit commenters have weighed in, with many arguing that the fiancé likely won't ever be able to sell the house, even if he's the one paying the mortgage. He can’t even sell it. You can’t open escrow with a piece of paper that says 'so and so gave me the house,' " writes one commenter. Adds another: "It’s hers, legally. This is the worst idea he could have had. When she stopped paying he should have bought the house off her." Close
