As well as the musical performances, the night featured a private dinner and live auction, during which O’Neal proved that along with his impressive stature, he has a big heart. During the auction, the NBA legend made a winning $20,000 bid for the chance to sit at a single table on stage during the concert — and then gave the prize to his mom. His generosity didn't stop there, as O'Neal went on to place a bid of $50,000 on a vacation to Bora Bora, which he then won. O’Neal started his foundation in 2019 and has partnered with the Boys & Girls Club and Communities in Schools, and they work to create opportunities for underserved youths.
