The actress — who has just been nominated for a Golden Globe — also shared that although she’s been working on the body care line, she hasn’t tried to DIY her own skincare. “No…Knowing me I would ruin my skin by putting like Clorox or something," she said.

On Monday, Gomez unveiled the new four-product range featuring a fragrance mist, body lotion, hand lotion and aromatherapy pen.

Earlier this month, Gomez exclusively told PEOPLE that the new line "aligns with promoting self-acceptance" and "encourages everyone to find joy in feeling good without needing perfect routines."

"It's all about emphasizing well-being," the mental health advocate added.

"We spent a lot of time making sure the collection truly represents our brand, focusing on soothing packaging colors, light textures, and calming aromas. Our goal was to create an experience that helps people feel comfortable in their own skin and take a moment to find comfort."

Gomez revealed that her inspiration for the collection came from her "personal love" of body products and Rare Beauty customers' ongoing interest in the category.

The star also said that she wants Rare — which she founded in 2020 — “to challenge the unrealistic standards of perfection in the beauty industry.” She explained that through the beauty brand, she’s able “to break down these ideals.”

“I personally experienced the pressure to meet certain appearance expectations growing up,” the businesswoman continued. “My fundamental belief is that everyone possesses a unique and rare quality, and feeling beautiful doesn't require conforming to one specific look.”
