Ryan Gosling is pulling out all the stops for his latest movie.

At the Los Angeles premiere of Gosling's The Fall Guy on April 30, the actor appeared on the red carpet wearing a monochromatic mint suit, flanked by stunt performers Ben Jenkin and Logan Holladay, who each wore the same outfit. In a video captured by PEOPLE on Instagram, the two stuntmen accompanying Gosling, 43, were pulled back by a wire through the facade bearing the film's title and an image of Gosling and his costar Emily Blunt to highlight the action-comedy's incredible stunt work.

Gosling could be seen embracing and congratulating both stunt performers after they fell through the facade. Pyrotechnics went off behind the performance as the stunt was pulled off.

"Look, stunt people are the unsung heroes. They risk more than anyone on a film set. They literally take the hits for us," Gosling told reporters on the red carpet, noting that one of the two stuntmen, Ben Jenkin, was lit on fire "eight times" while shooting scenes for The Fall Guy.

"It's crazy what they risk for us and for an audience to have these incredible moments," Gosling said. "So to be able to shine the light on them and to have the storyline focus on them, have people realize and see what they do has been really, really cool."

Gosling and Blunt, 41, presented a tribute montage to stunt performers at the Academy Awards in March. Leading up to the release of The Fall Guy, they also presented performer Logan Holladay with a Guinness World Record for the most cannon rolls in a car for a feat performed in the movie.

Gosling appeared at Universal Studios Hollywood's WaterWorld stunt show to promote the movie on April 27, where he joked he "came out to say hi" during the live stunt performance.

"I think Bruce Lee just everything that he did was kind of really inspiring. Obviously, the Indiana Jones films. Duel really got me — the Steven Spielberg film, just because it's really just two cars are the characters, and yet the action is the star," Gosling said on the carpet, when asked about his favorite movie stunt sequence as a kid. "So I was really affected by action as a kid, as we all are, I think. And what's so fun about this film is that we get to sort of see the people who really create that and design that."

Gosling later returned to The Fall Guy's busy red carpet alongside Saturday Night Live's Mikey Day, where the pair reprised their live-action versions of Beavis and Butt-Head that went viral after a sketch they performed on the show's April 13 episode.

The Fall Guy is in theaters May 3.
