Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt have much to celebrate with their new movie — including a special record broken!

The Fall Guy -- directed by David Leitch and adapted by Drew Pearce from the hit 1980s CBS drama of the same name -- features explosions, high-speed car chases, falls from dizzying heights and the mind-blowing work from death-defying stunt performers all the above requires.

At a special screening of the movie held Wednesday in Los Angeles, Gosling, 43, and Blunt, 41, presented Logan Holladay with a Guinness World Record: for most cannon rolls in a car.

Stunts are among the human achievements that Guinness World Records keeps track of, published annually in a reference book. In 2015, for example, the James Bond movie Spectre took the record for largest film stunt explosion.

Holladay, 34, has worked on stunts in dozens of projects, including Logan, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw and Nope. In The Fall Guy, which filmed on the beaches of Australia in 2022, he achieved “an astonishing eight and a half rolls” in a car, per a press release from Universal Pictures.

“The cannon roll, a classic stunt dating back to the early days of cinema, involves fitting a cannon-like apparatus beneath a car that shoots toward the ground. As the vehicle reaches a designated speed, the mechanism triggers and propels the car into a series of rolls,” it continues.

Holladay’s eight and a half turns have “surpassed the previous record held by stuntman Adam Kirley, who achieved seven cannon rolls during the filming of 2006’s Casino Royale.”

“When I learned about The Fall Guy going into production, I knew I had to be part of it,” said Holladay in a statement.

“After two practice runs and one real take, we had one car and one shot left,” he said of the cannon rolls. Upon hitting eight and a half, “I had a pretty good feeling that I had broken the record because it felt like the spinning was never going to stop. It was a surreal moment and I’m incredibly proud of what the team achieved.”

Gosling leads The Fall Guy as stunt expert Colt Seavers, while Blunt plays Jody Moreno, the director forced to hire him. As Entertainment Weekly revealed in December, the movie features many of the stunt doubles Gosling has worked with on other action-packed projects.

Starring alongside the impressive stunt team in The Fall Guy are Hannah Waddingham as a movie producer, Winston Duke as a stunt coordinator, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as a cocky leading man — who disappears, setting off the events of the story — and Stephanie Hsu as his beleaguered assistant.

Leitch told EW that he considered stunt performers “the ninjas of the movie business,” and wanted to remake The Fall Guy into a feature-length homage to their craft.

“They’re the ones that really make the magic happen,” said the director. “I just thought it was time to tell a story from their perspective.”

At Sunday’s 96th Oscars ceremony, where Gosling and Blunt were both nominated in supporting acting categories for Barbie and Oppenheimer, respectively, the two presented a tribute to stunt performers onstage.

That community, Gosling said, has “been such a crucial part of our industry since the beginning of cinema,” while Blunt called stunt performers "the unsung heroes" of Hollywood.

Gosling has also revealed he is “text buddies” with screen legend Lee Majors, who led the long-running CBS series The Fall Guy as Colt Seavers. “It's pretty cool,” the La La Land star told PEOPLE in January. “He's so funny and he's very lovely and gracious.”

Following its SXSW premiere in Austin, Texas on Tuesday, The Fall Guy is in theaters May 3.
