Pink Teases 'Beautifully Random' Collaboration with Sting and Marshmello

The three music stars are teaming up to release the collaboration "Dreaming" on Oct. 20

Three music stars from different genres are linking up to release something special.

Pink announced on social media last Friday that she’s teaming up with Sting and Marshmello for the new single “Dreaming” on Oct. 20. On Wednesday, the "So What" singer, 44, shared a teaser trailer in anticipation of the upcoming release.

The group opened up about how the unexpected collaboration came together in the clip, which features footage of all three hitmakers in the studio and behind-the-scenes shots of a promotional photoshoot.

“That is a fantastic question,” Pink says while laughing as somebody asks the trio how they came together.

“Marshmello was the prime leader of this,” Sting, 72, explains.

The EDM star, 32, then chimes in to share why he thinks “Dreaming” is so exciting. He says, “This is kind of the most maybe unexpected collaboration I think any of us ever thought or maybe the world might think.”

“It’s beautifully random,” Pink says in agreement.

In the caption, the Grammy winner emphasized how thrilled she is to have worked on a project with artists who have such contrasting sounds. “Different people from different places coming together to make music,” Pink shared. “Music makes my heart happy.”

The trio announced the track by sharing a brief visual on social media last week. In the teaser, a grand-sounding snippet of the upcoming track plays over animation of ethereal pink clouds before the title “Dreaming” appears.

Pink shared the announcement, which the DJ and former frontman of The Police reposted. In the caption she wrote, “Surprise!! ‘Dreaming’ with my friends @theofficialsting & @marshmello comes out October 20th ✨ Pre-save link in bio!”

“Dreaming” marks Sting’s first new song this year — although it’s not the rocker’s first time working with an electronic artist. Last year, he reprised the iconic chorus of The Police’s song “Roxanne” on Swedish House Mafia’s Paradise Again track “Redlight.”

Marshmello, meanwhile, recently dropped “Other Boys” with Dove Cameron in September. The producer is also gearing up to release his new album Sugar Papi on Nov. 3, which exclusively features Latin collaborators.

“Dreaming” will appear on Pink’s upcoming Trustfall: Tour Deluxe Edition, a new version of her ninth studio album featuring nine new tracks that's due Dec. 1.

Aside from her team-up with Sting and Marshmello, the record will also feature the new track, “All Out of Fight,” and “Irrelevant,” which was originally released as a standalone single in 2022.

The revamped edition of her 2023 album will also include six live recordings: “What About Us,” “Cover Me In Sunshine” with her daughter Willow, a cover of Sinéad O'Connor‘s “Nothing Compares 2 U” with Brandi Carlile, a cover of Sade‘s “No Ordinary Love” and a mashup of “Just Like Fire” with Pat Benatar‘s “Heartbreaker.”

On Monday, the “Just Give Me a Reason” singer announced her two Summer Carnival 2023 Tour gigs in Tacoma, Washington would have to be postponed due to "family medical issues" that require "immediate attention."

Although she didn’t reveal any further insight, the performer — who shares daughters Willow, 12, and Jameson, 6, with husband Carey Hart — insisted she would reschedule the shows.

She will soon wrap up the North American leg her Summer Carnival 2023 Tour in November.
