Is This the First Single From the Reunited Spice Girls Trio, GEM?

Melanie "Scary Spice" Brown, Geri "Ginger Spice" Halliwell and Emma "Baby Spice" Bunton might have dropped a new single as part of their GEM project

While Americans across the county have been busy in the kitchen getting ready for Thanksgiving, Melanie “Scary Spice”Brown, Geri “Ginger Spice” Halliwell and Emma “Baby Spice”Bunton have apparently been cooking up a treat of their own — a new single!

The Spice Girls alums have reunited as a new spinoff group GEM (a name made from the initials of their first names). And while they’ve yet to confirm it on social media, it looks like their new single has leaked.

Called “Song for Her,” the tune is a feel-good pop power anthem for women longing for a little more “girl power” in their lives.

It also appears to be a deeply-personal song for Bunton, 40, Brown, 41, and expectant-mother Halliwell, 44 — telling women who have lost their “careless and care-free” selves to the responsibilities of aging to “never forget the girl in the woman you are.”

“Where is that girl, is she long gone missing? / Can’t bring her back, but it’s just reminiscing / There in the mirror, she’s shouting ‘I’ve been here forever,'” they sing.

Bunton, Halliwell, and Brown’s airy vocals and tight harmonies feel like a hug from an old friend on the track, which they allegedly co-wrote alongside Eliot Kennedy. And though its “boom boom pop” lyrics aren’t exactly “zigg-a-zig-ah”-worthy, the song is still sure to spice up the life of any Spice Girls fan.

But fans won’t find Sporty Spice (a.k.a. Melanie Chisholm, a.k.a. Mel C) or Posh Spice (a.k.a. Victoria Beckham) joining the GEM girls anytime soon.

“Truth be told, earlier this year after several face-to-face meetings with the girls I made the difficult decision not to be part of a proposed reunion with Emma, Geri and Melanie,” Chisholm wrote in a personal essay for the September issue of U.K.’s Love Magazine.

“Victoria had already bowed out understandably with the demands of her fashion label and her rather large family,” she revealed — noting, for her, the “pinnacle” of her Spice existence was performing at the Olympics for millions of people around the world.

As for what’s to come for GEM, plans still haven’t been announced since the ladies first announced the grouping in July — built as a celebration for their 20th anniversary. Whether they choose to head out on a tour, put out an album, or just a few new songs, the ladies have promised to give fans “what they want, what they really really want.”
