The couple first met while filming the movie Jamón, Jamón in 1992, but they didn't start dating until another movie, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, brought them together again in 2008. "We met on the wardrobe test, where we looked at each other, and I guess something happened," Bardem told Gentleman's Journal of the first time he and Cruz ever crossed paths.
