After Team Gwen contestant Sloane Simon and Team Michael’s Mor Ilderton were not selected in the battle round, they were each saved by the opposite coach, with Bublé snatching Simon for his own team and Stefani bringing Ilderton aboard hers on the Monday, Oct. 21 episode. Simon, 20, sang “Birds of a Feather” by Billie Eilish with fellow contestant Sydney Sterlace, 15, in her battle round. Stefani, her coach, ultimately picked Sterlace, saying she was listening to a “really weird voice inside of me.” Simon didn’t need to worry for long, though, as Bublé, 49, and coaches Reba McEntire and Snoop Dogg also quickly hit their “steal” buttons to try and get Simon on their own teams. Later in the episode, Stefani managed to get Bublé right back, stealing Ilderton, 20, from the crooner after he selected Kiara Vega in their battle round. Ilderton and Vega, 18, teamed up on “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls, and Bublé said he changed his mind “like four times” before ultimately moving forward with Vega. Mor Ilderton. She’s got a great voice. She doesn’t sound like any other girl,” he said. “I think that the music industry might not know that they’re missing a piece of the puzzle and that she’s it.” Though Bublé made a point of writing down his phone number and giving it to Ilderton, the singer didn’t need it, as Stefani quickly nabbed him. “I just got this feeling like, I know what to do with that guy,” she said. “My favorite thing about Mor’s voice is it just has a unique, raspy undone tone. When you hear music out there, his voice feels like what’s happening right now in the world.” The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC at 8 p.m. ET, and episodes are available to stream on Peacock the next day.
