Reflecting on the move, Megan revealed the advice she was given by JAY-Z. "When I was in the situation that I was in and I wanted to get out of it, they told me, 'You need to do this on your own. You already know what it is, you got all the tools, all the legal s--- that you're gong through right now — I know that you're learning something. So, you should be able to figure out how to get ahead and be your own boss,'" Megan recalled of the conversation. Megan Thee Stallion Says She's Been 'Ugly Crying' Since Sharing the Stage with Beyoncé The "HISS" rapper then revealed that Beyoncé has inspired her other business endeavors — like starting her own tequila brand. "I used to be the cognac queen, but as much as I used to enjoy cognac and I promoted a lot of people's liquor brands, she was like, 'The next time I see you, you need to have your own alcoholic beverage,'" she said. "I feel like they definitely put me in a position to learn how to be my own boss." Reflecting on her relationship with the couple, Megan expressed gratitude to have them as mentors in the business. They've been through everything. They're still going through it right now, but they just know how to carry it," she said. "And I'm learning from the best. I feel like I'm in the right spot, the right position. I've never felt so safe in a situation where I feel like these people got my back. I've just seen how much they've grown, and how much they hustle and how much they let all the talk and whatever else people say roll off their back," she continued.
