Megan Fox said her book does not contain anything about MGK "that he hasn't said about himself in his own music"

Megan Fox says her poetry about fiancé Machine Gun Kelly in her recent book have affected their relationship.

During Fox's appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the actress, 37, said some of her poems included in Pretty Boys Are Poisonous, published in November, are "obviously about" musician MGK, 33, born Colson Baker.

" '32-Year-Old Narcissist Attempts To Quantify His Crimes' is about him and he knows it's about him. There are other ones, like 'Ghosts of Christmas Future,' obviously about him, but I also didn't really write anything about him that he hasn't said about himself in his own music," said Fox, who has been romantically linked to MGK since 2020.

"However," she continued, "that doesn't make it any less sensitive for him to experience me writing about it, because obviously he feels in control when he's telling his own story or maybe he's able to hide behind the music a little bit."

Fox said in November that the 70-plus poems contained in her debut book were "something women can relate to," though at the time she noted not all of the pieces are meant to be taken literally.

On Call Her Daddy, the Transformers star shared that while she does not say anything about MGK the musician has not said on his own, "it felt different [writing about him in] this format."

"Obviously he would have to be asked for his experience, but it was not easy, and I think he was really nervous and worried," she said of his initial reaction. "There is a lot of explicit content in the book, obviously, and there was some fear there. Also, I mean, some of [the poems] are about him and are savage."

Fox and MGK have been engaged since January 2022, and they were most recently seen together vacationing in Mexico earlier this month.

Speaking about her book further on Call Her Daddy, Fox said her writing does not necessarily display "an objective view of my roles in relationships."

"I've failed many times inside different relationships and was not a flawless — I was not a pure victim," she said. "I did plenty of things and provoked plenty of things — not in terms of violence — but, like, I've provoked pain or issues inside relationships with my behavior."
