The romantic flick is based on the New York Times bestselling novel by Laura Taylor Namey and follows a woman after the loss of her grandmother. "Lila leaves her life at Abuela’s Cuban bakery in Miami to spend the summer cooking at her aunt’s inn in Winchester. It’s there that she falls in love with the quaint British countryside, fusion cooking and a charming British tea shop clerk…ultimately using food as a way to bridge two cultures and heal her heart," reads a description of the movie, per Deadline. In a 2022 interview with Teen Vogue, Reficco commented on her closeness with Connor while also sharing her love for his show, Heartstopper. "Working with Kit was such a dream, he’s such a sweetheart, one of the most brilliant actors. We got along so well from the get-go," she said. "He’s become one of my favorite people. I was so excited to meet him because I loved [Heartstopper] beforehand, but after getting to work with him and learning from him, we became each other’s biggest cheerleaders." "We had the best time shooting it, so I'm excited for the world to be able to see it." And for those who do, Reficco expects to hear about it on the stage door, where night after night she's been interacting with fans showing her their support. "It's crazy, it's such an honor," she says. First and foremost, I can't believe people stay to wait for me to come out, but they also stay with such love and such generous, beautiful, supportive energy.
