The actress, who played Glinda in the original Broadway production of Wicked, attended a screening of the new movie on Monday, Oct. 28 in New York City and later shared her thoughts on Instagram. Also in attendance were Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo — who play Glinda and Elphaba in the film — along with members of the current Wicked Broadway company and previous stars. "Oh my gosh I just saw the movie and I'm dying. I'm deceased, I'm actually dead, I'm not here," Chenoweth, 56, gushed in the Instagram Reel. "People are not going to be well when they see this film. It is so good, it is so special." "The story is so wonderful, and Cynthia and Ariana are amazing. The whole cast is amazing," Chenoweth continued. "Jon Chu nailed it. I was so moved, emotional, happy, filled with joy. Please everybody go see Wicked, you'll be blessed." Chu, Chenoweth's husband Josh Bryant, the movie's composer Stephen Schwartz, Gregory Maguire, who wrote the novel, and a few more of Wicked's original stars: Christopher Fitzgerald (Boq), Norbert Leo Butz (Fiyero) and his wife Michelle Federer (Nessarose). There were also a sea of former Elphabas and Glindas, including Amanda Jane Cooper, Alli Mauzey, , Carrie St. Louis, Brittney Johnson, McKenzie Kurtz, Ginna Claire Mason and Katie Rose Clarke and the Broadway production's current stars, Mary Kate Morrissey and Alexandra Socha. Wicked, which first debuted on Broadway in 2003, puts a twist on the well-known dichotomy of The Wizard of Oz's Glinda the Good Witch and the Wicked Witch of the West. The story instead follows Elphaba — the Wicked Witch — her unlikely friendship with Glinda and the events that led her to eventually become the Wicked Witch of the West. The movies's latest screening comes after Grande and Erivo surprised the Kardashian-Jenner family with a special early screening of the new film at Kim Kardashian's home.
