The two not only delivered impressive performances as actors but they sang beautiful songs for the film's soundtrack including the Grammy and Oscar award-winning song Shallow. "Yes, people saw love and guess what? That’s what we wanted you to see," Gaga told Jimmy Kimmel of the pair's buzzy Oscars performance of the song. "[Shallow] is a love song, A Star Is Born is a love story. It was so important to both of us that we were connected the entire time … When you’re singing love songs, that’s what you want people to feel." 02 of 07 Ariana Grande Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga. Though neither were present to accept the award, Grande shared her excitement online with Gaga who was filming House of Gucci in Italy at the time. "MOTHER MONSTER WAKE UP @ladygaga!!!!!!!!???" Grande tweeted at the time. "eternally, deeply grateful for u, for this experience, to have been a part of this song and this celebration of healing and recovery, to be able to dance in the rain with u, to call u my dear friend & to now share this. beyond thankful," she added in a second tweet. The two also collaborated on a remix of Beyoncé's "Video Phone," which they also shot a music video for. “I love Gaga,” Beyoncé has previously said. “If she didn’t perform and she wasn’t a singer, just as a human being I love her to death. I’m all about women working together and supporting each other and learning from each other.” 04 of 07 Tony Bennett Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga. Lester Cohen/WireImage After first meeting at a gala in 2011, Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett would embark on a beautiful friendship both on and off the stage. They first collaborated shortly after their first meeting on Bennett's Duets II singing "The Lady Is a Tramp." "It was the first time I heard Lady perform," Bennett told Parade in 2014 of their first meeting. "And I could not believe the audience's reaction." He added: "The first thing I said was, 'Let's do an album together.' And she said, 'Okay.' That quick. I just love what she did on [our album, Cheek to Cheek]. She's up there with Ella Fitzgerald, who was the greatest singer in the world." The two worked together several times over the years including a world tour, a second album called Love for Sale and a Radio City Music Hall performance titled One Last Time following the announcement from Bennett's family that he was living with Alzheimer's disease. Following his death in July 2023, Gaga paid tribute to her dear friend in an emotional post to Instagram where she wrote: "I will miss my friend forever." “I will miss singing with him, recording with him, talking with him, being on stage together," she added. "With Tony, I got to live my life in a time warp. Tony & I had this magical power," she continued. "We transported ourselves to another era, modernized the music together, & gave it all new life as a singing duo. But it wasn’t an act. Our relationship was very real.” 05 of 07 BLACKPINK Lady Gaga, Blackpink. When talking about the album, Gaga told Zane Lowe “And, for me, sound is what healed me in my life period, and it healed me again making this record, and that is really what Chromatica is all about." The duo's bond runs even deeper than their musical collaborations as Gaga is godmother to John and David Furnish's sons, Zachary and Elijah. 07 of 07 Christina Aguilera Christina Aguilera and Lady Gaga.
