News of the duo's romance comes two years after Rizzo's late husband Bob Saget suffered blunt force trauma to the head in a Florida hotel. Speaking with E! News during her outing last weekend, Rizzo said, "It took a while to get to the point where I'm like, ‘OK, I think he'd be happy with it.' " Saget's three daughters — Aubrey, 36, Lara, 34 and Jennifer, 31 — also gave the Eat Travel Rock host their approval, she told the outlet. "It's wonderful, it just meant so much to have their blessing," Rizzo said. "They're just angels. And to have them support is so meaningful." Speaking with PEOPLE at the award show viewing party, Rizzo said that Saget is "still such a big part" of her life each day. “And I love being close to his girls and his daughters," she said. "And just honoring him with just little things that I do all day every day. He's never going anywhere.” Rizzo also shared that it means "so much" to her to "still be so close" to Saget's former Full House co-stars, including friend John Stamos. “Just knowing that they're there for me has been everything," she said. "It was Bob’s second family, so it’s my second family too.” Kelly Rizzo and Breckin Meyer. BACKGRID Kelly Rizzo Says Knowing Bob Saget Was 'Rooting' for Her on Special Forces Gave Her 'a Little Extra Oomph' (Exclusive) Last month marked the second anniversary of Saget's death. At the time, Rizzo honored him with a sweet message shared on Instagram alongside a photo of her late husband smiling on stage. “2 years. Wow. Simultaneously feels like a week and an eternity,” she captioned the pic. “I chose this photo of Bob as not only was it the last photo he shared and one of the last texts he sent me, but it perfectly encapsulates how he would want all of us to remember him. With his guitar, on a stage, doing what he loved to do…making people laugh…making people happy.” “I’m still blown away by the fact that Bob hasn’t faded from all of your hearts in the slightest. It means so very much," Rizzo added. "Thank you for allowing me to still share Bob and thank you all for continuing to keep his memory alive.” Close
