Jesse Tyler Ferguson remains a hands-on dad to his TV daughter years after the end of Modern Family.

Ferguson, 48, had his former onscreen daughter, Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, as his guest on the June 18 episode of his podcast, Dinner's on Me, and as the former costars caught up, they reflected on some of their more recent meet-ups – notably, at Anderson-Emmons' school plays.

"I love that Aubrey's mom, Amy, always makes sure that I know when her school plays are so that I can attend them if I'm in town," Ferguson said as he introduced the actress as his podcast guest.

"I've gone to see two of your plays. I saw The Burn and Theory of Relativity," Ferguson said, as Anderson-Emmons, 17, helped him remember the title of the second play. "I always wanna say Theory of Everything because that's a movie."

"Theory of RelativityJulie [Bowen] and I both came to that one. And, yeah, I mean, first of all, Aubrey, you're so great," he praised. "We were all blown away. That song you have in Theory of Relativity was so moving. It was just incredible."

"Thank you," Anderson-Emmons replied, before admitting, "I was really nervous for you to come."

"I'm sure," Ferguson agreed, reflecting on his own impressive history in theater. "I'm nervous anytime someone [I know is] in the audience."

"No, because I was like, 'Oh my God, ain't no way Jesse's gonna be here, and he's literally won a Tony,'" she said, referring to Ferguson's 2022 win for Broadway's Take Me Out revival.

She said it was "so scary" to have him in the audience because he's "so accomplished when it comes to theater."

"I'm glad you liked it," she said.

Though her nerves were already high, Ferguson and Bowen, 54, didn't help matters as they ended up sitting somewhere Anderson-Emmons couldn't ignore.

"Your mom – we walked in – [and] she's like, I'm saving you seats, and, of course, we were in the very front row," Ferguson recalled. "We were like ‘Oh no. I don’t know if we need to be right here.'"

After seeing the play, both Ferguson and Bowen shared photos on Instagram, delighting fans with the mini-Modern Family reunion.

"Took my sis to see the kiddo in her school musical, The Theory of Relativity. So proud of you @aubreyandersonemmons!" Ferguson wrote in the post's caption, while Bowen wrote, "Well THIS was a fun outing!!! Jesse and I went to see Aubrey’s play yesterday, and she killed it!"

In November, Ferguson attended another of Anderson-Emmons' plays, The Burn, as he mentioned on the podcast, and gave her a shoutout on Instagram for that performance, too.

"Got to see my talented pretend daughter @aubreyandersonemmons in her high school production of THE BURN. It's crazy to think Aubrey was just a few months older than Beckett when I met her! Look at her now!!! Congrats, Aubrey! You were SO great! Love you! You make a pretend papa proud ❤️."
