Seinfeld says he has always been drawn to the world of surfing. "I think if I could have spent my entire life just living broke and being a surf bum and every day paddle out and spend a few hours a day surfing, that’s as good a life as any life you could have," he says.

The Brooklyn native, who has made many life dreams come true from his iconic TV series Seinfeld, which ran from 1989 to 1998, to his 25-year marriage to wife Jessica, 52, says he often lives vicariously through surfers.

"I follow every surfer on Instagram," he says. "Every day I stare at them like a cat looking at a bird through the window."

The star adds that when it comes to birthdays, he has "no interest" in time. "The future does not interest me," he says. But he does like looking back at his childhood and notes that Unfrosted takes place in his favorite era — the 1960s.

"It was a very silly decade. People were silly and colorful and not precious about life like they are now. I grew up on Get Smart, I Dream of Jeannie, Laugh-In. There was no substance to any of this," he says. "I just wanted to be in that fun world."

Unfrosted is on Netflix May 3.
