The podcaster, 44, shared the news on the season finale of her Dumb Blonde podcast, which was released on Tuesday, July 2. "I would have trouble carrying a baby," Bunnie, a.k.a. Alyssa DeFord said, sharing that she's experienced "many" pregnancy losses and can't emotionally handle another loss now that she's stabilized her mental health since having a difficult year in 2019. Taylor Hill/WireImage Bunnie and the "Wild Ones" singer (born Jason DeFord) were also not in a good place in their relationship that year, which was the first time they felt financially able to have a child together, she said. So, they sat down a few months ago and discussed IVF. "I feel like I've accomplished so much in my life. And the only thing that's left is to raise a baby and garden," Bunnie said. "I'm in my baby mama gardening [sic] era.'" When she asked Jelly Roll how he'd feel about having a child together, he said, "I would love to have a baby with you," she recalled. "Now he's like really excited about [the idea of having a child]," Bunnie said, explaining that he was supportive of surrogacy. Bunnie said they'd planned to stay private about their IVF journey secret and only announce the baby when he or she was born because people on the internet love "to ruin beautiful things." However, Jelly Roll was so excited about having a kid with Bunnie that he told another podcast about their plans. When he told her about his slip-up, she was stressed at first, but then her attitude shifted. "I thought about it and I was like, 'My husband is f---ing excited to have a kid with me. Like, how cool is that?' And if he wants to f---ing scream it from the mountaintops, f---ing let him," she said, adding that she reached out to the podcasters and they let her drop the announcement on her own. During her podcast episode, Bunnie went on to denounce trolls on the internet who write negative comments before eventually revealing that she and Jelly Roll were going to start the journey in 2025 and might want to have twins, but they want to keep the rest of the journey private.
