Janelle Monáe has completely transformed for Halloween this year!

To celebrate the spooky holiday, the 38-year-old multi-hyphenate turned into a real-life version of E.T., the beloved character from Steven Spielberg's 1982 film, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.

"You finally came home. 🛸👆🏽Welcome back E.T. 🥹Thank you Google Maps. 🛸 Starring yours truly as both E.T. & Janellllliot," the performer, who goes by she/her and they/them pronouns, wrote while sharing photos of the extravagant costume on Instagram, Wednesday, Oct. 30.

She also channeled E.T. for the Halloween edition of The Jennifer Hudson Show, which airs on Thursday, Oct. 31.

The talk show shared a preview of the episode on Instagram and X, showing Monáe in full costume as she greeted host Jennifer Hudson.

"I never would’ve guessed I would've got to meet E.T.," said Hudson in the clip as Monáe repeated Hudson's name and her prosthetic finger lit up.

An overjoyed Hudson then told the audience, "E.T. knows my name. Thank you for coming to the happy place. I don’t know if I should say Janelle or E.T.," to which Monáe responds, "E.T. is Janelle Monáe."

Monáe kept the Halloween festivities going on Oct. 31 at her Wondaween party in Los Angeles. She welcomed guests, including Victoria Monet and Willow Smith, to her Haunted Monáe Mansion, where they were greeted by zombies at the entrance and escorted inside for an all-night rager. There was a maze at the entrance before even getting into the party, and the whole evening took place in a decorated courtyard, where Monáe's friends ate, drank and danced all night long. They even sipped on craft cocktails that the singer designed in collaboration with Basil Hayden Bourbon, including The Monáe Manor, Spellbound Smash, Basil Hayden 75 and E.T.'s Elixir.

Earlier this month, Monáe revealed to PEOPLE that the elaborate costume was years in the making.

"I've shared a costume idea with someone's team, actually, and tried to get a price for how much it would cost. And then I found out that person was going to be that and I had been planning this costume for two years," she recalled to PEOPLE, only noting at the time that she would be dressed as "an iconic movie character."

While she added that she would have "multiple costumes," she revealed why dressing up as E.T. was special to her.

"It's such a happy thing for me where I'm like, 'Oh, I'm going to get to transform into this.' I remember how I felt when I watched this character, and I can't wait to pay homage to it," she said.

"And I spend so much time getting emotionally connected to what it's going to look like, and how it's going to make people feel," continued Monaé, who in years past has dressed up in a head-to-toe chameleon costume and like The Fifth Element's Diva Plavalaguna.
