People Editorial Guidelines Published on June 25, 2024 09:00AM EDT Harry Connick Jr. is rediscovering a past life in Find Me Falling. The Emmy- and Grammy-winning actor and musician stars in the new Netflix romance, and PEOPLE can exclusively reveal the first trailer, set amid an idyllic Cyprus backdrop. "Coming off a flop album and his biggest hit's dwindling popularity, aging rock star John Allman (Connick) decides to take a break from his career to reclaim his spark," teases a synopsis. He then moves to an "isolated cliffside home" on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus. "His dream of keeping a low profile is derailed when he is routinely confronted by desperate souls and later faced with even more complicated surprises when an old flame reignites," the synopsis adds of the film, which was written and directed by Stelana Kliris. Speaking with PEOPLE, Connick, 56, says the movie "is just about a guy who realizes what's important in life." "He has to go very far away to figure that out, but he comes around realizing that the things that are the closest to him are the most important," he adds. "I wanted someone who could bring depth to the role, but who could also take our breath away when he sang on screen, and Harry delivered on all fronts," the director adds. The cast of Find Me Falling also includes Agni Scott, Ali Fumiko Whitney, Tony Demetriou, Aggeliki Filippidou, Lea Maleni, Athina Roditou and Clarence Smith. "Harry and I only managed a chat a couple of days before our first scene together," says Scott, who plays the love interest. We had delicious Mediterranean meals and explored the island by boat and ATV vehicles," she adds. "I look back and cannot believe how lucky I was to call my time in Cyprus 'work.' " Asked what he wants audiences to get from Find Me Falling, Connick tells PEOPLE, "I think at certain points in our lives we kind of question what we're doing and what's going on."
