In an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE at the premiere of Queer in Los Angeles on Nov. 13, the singer, 27, opened up about how he would channel his music videos while filming romantic scenes with Daniel Craig. When asked how he made his sex scenes feel authentic with Craig, 56, since it was the pair's first time working together, Apollo admitted, "Well, I've shot music videos before for my music, so I just tried to emulate that feeling." "There wasn't really much nerves, it was a very calm set," the Grammy-nominated artist continued of the Luca Guadagnino-directed project. "Everyone is super talented." "I trusted everyone around me so that really eased all of my anxieties around shooting," Apollo added. Before Filming Sex Scene with Daniel Craig: 'I Had to Get It Together' In Queer, Apollo stars as an American expat in 1940s Mexico City who falls in love with a younger man, played by Outer Banks star Drew Starkey. It is based on the 1985 seminal novella of the same name by William S. Burroughs, which the author wrote as a spiritual sequel to his semi-autobiographical 1953 work Junkie: Confessions of an Unredeemed Drug Addict. Alongside Apollo, Craig and Starkey, 31, Queer — which premiered at the 2024 Venice Film Festival — features a starry supporting cast, including Lesley Manville, Jason Schwartzman and Drew Droege.
