Grammys don't just sit on the shelf in Jay-Z's house!

After receiving the 2nd annual Dr. Dre Global Impact Award at the 2024 Grammys on Sunday, the rapper was captured on video pouring a celebratory shot of cognac into the gramophone statue.

He appears to have thrown back a sip of his own brand of the beverage — D'Ussé Cognac XO.

Minutes earlier, while accepting the honor on stage at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles with his daughter Blue Ivy, 12, by his side, he told the crowd he's used Grammy awards as cups before.

"I used to say this was a sippy cup for Blue," he joked, holding the award. "But Blue's grown up now, she doesn't take sippy cups and she has her own Grammys." The crowd roared with applause.

Later in his speech, the "Run This Town" rapper, 54, took a moment to call out the Recording Academy and subtly gave his wife Beyoncé Knowles props at the same time.

He didn't mention the "Drunk In Love" singer by name, rather citing her accomplishments instead.

"I don't want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than everyone and never won album of the year. So even by your own metrics, that doesn't work," he said. "Think about that. The most Grammys never won album of the year. That doesn't work."

"We want y'all to get it right. At least getting close to right," he said in his speech, adding that he knew music taste was subjective. Knowles, 42, has been nominated for album of the year four times and never won.

As for the cognac, the businessman partnered with Charente house Otard (Bacardi Group) in 2012 to start the brand D'Ussé. He sold his majority stake in 2023, but retained “significant ownership," according to Complex.
