From director Richard Linklater (Dazed and Confused, Boyhood), the comedy stars Powell as a professor named Gary Johnson who "moonlights as a fake hit man for the New Orleans Police Department," according to a synopsis. Johnson takes on various personalities and disguises while undercover as he aims to "catch hapless people hoping to bump off their enemies." But, "Gary descends into morally dubious territory when he finds himself attracted to one of those potential criminals, a beautiful young woman named Madison," played by Adria Arjona (Morbius).
