Giada De Laurentiis Sends Daughter Jade Off to Prom — and Has to Stand on Her Tiptoes to Match Up to Her!

Giada De Laurentiis’s daughter Jade is keeping her on her toes — literally.

The former Food Network star’s teenage daughter attended prom over the weekend, and De Laurentiis, 53, shared the milestone moment with her fans on Instagram on Sunday, May 5.

In the picture, the Giadzy founder has her arm around a glammed-up Jade, 16, who is wearing a strapless white lace and sparkly mini-dress and platform heels. A barefoot De Laurentiis had to stand on her tiptoes just to almost reach the same height as Jade in her heels.

“Sending Jadey off to prom last night 😭🥰” the cookbook author wrote in the caption.

Other than their height differences, the similarities between the mother-daughter duo are apparent in the sweet photo. “Like mother like daughter,” one commenter wrote.

Other followers, including Pioneer Woman’s Ree Drummond, wrote of their shock over how grown Jade is. “You are both gorgeous!! Jade is so grown up, I can’t process it!” Drummond commented.

Jade is De Laurentiis' only child with her ex-husband Todd Thompson. Jade turned 16 on March 29 and her parents both commemorated the special birthday with posts on Instagram.

“Today is Jadey’s sweet 16– where does the time go?” De Laurentiis captioned her post. “She is the most kind, beautiful, caring, smart young lady and I’m so lucky to call her mine 💜.”

Thompson shared a similarly sentimental social media post calling Jade “loving, kind, compassionate and creative.”

De Laurentiis and her daughter celebrated the birthday and Easter during an action-packed trip to Hawaii. They took a helicopter ride around the Big Island, spent time on the beach and hiked waterfalls.

Jade attends a high school in California that focuses on the arts. She is a budding entertainer who often performs with her own band and in her school plays.

"I think that she's found her people. It's so wonderful to see that in high school," De Laurentiis told PEOPLE when Jade first enrolled in 2022. "She's really enjoying herself."
