On Tuesday, Nov. 5, at around 4:40 p.m. local time, a Honda HA-420 jet crashed at Falcon Field Airport, a spokesperson for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed to PEOPLE. "The aircraft struck a vehicle outside of the airport property," the statement read. "Our community suffered a tragic loss ... a plane crashed into a single vehicle on Greenfield Rd upon takeoff from Falcon Field in Mesa," Mesa Police Department added in a statement obtained by PEOPLE. Patrick Breen/The Republic/USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images Police identified four of the five victims on Wednesday, Nov. 6, as Spencer Lindahl, 43; Rustin Randall, 48; Drew Kimball, 44; and Graham Kimball, 12, per a news release obtained by PEOPLE. Police confirmed five local Ariz. residents were on board the plane; the pilot, co-pilot and three passengers. "One person on the plane survived and is currently hospitalized with burn injuries," the release said. "The driver of a vehicle involved in the crash also died. We are not releasing the name pending official confirmation of identity," it added. Per the report, a description claimed the "aircraft crashed under unknown circumstances on takeoff" and that there was a "post-crash fire." The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) added in a statement obtained by PEOPLE, "Preliminary information indicates that the plane impacted the airport perimeter fence and a passenger vehicle during an aborted takeoff at the Falcon Field Airport." On Tuesday, the Mesa Police Department confirmed they were "working a plane crash at Greenfield and McKellips Road," urging people to take different routes due to roads being closed in a post shared on X (formerly known as Twitter). "Update on traffic from last nights plane crash. Greenfield is still closed in both directions from McKellips to McDowell. All other traffic is open. If you work in the area that’s closed down, officers are letting people in to their work site," police then posted on X on Wednesday. The NTSB told PEOPLE an investigation was underway. "While on site, the investigators will begin the process of documenting the scene and examining the aircraft. The aircraft will then be recovered to a secure facility for further evaluation," the NTSB said in a statement. Close
