Photo: Eva Mendes x Cast Eva Mendes’ latest style collaboration has a sentimental meaning. The star, 50, collaborated with San Francisco-based jeweler Cast on an exclusive ring with some symbolism behind it. Mendes and the brand, co-founded by Rachel Skelly and Eric Ryan, teamed up on a special edition of Cast’s signature rotatable Flip Ring. Mendes "Havana" style is made with the gemstones chrysoprase, emerald pavé and white agate, as well as diamond accents and set in 18-karat reclaimed gold. The design retails for $9,750. Also available is the Signet Havana Flip Ring set in sterling silver with emerald pavé, matte gold and diamonds, which retails for $2,200. Emerald specifically has a special place in Mendes’ heart. When the actress originally teased the design on March 11, she wrote on Instagram that her love for the gemstone “runs deep — it’s literally my daughter’s name in Spanish,” referring to her 9-year-old Esmeralda, who she shares with longtime partner Ryan Gosling. The ring is named after Havana, Cuba, which pays homage to Mendes' heritage. "That’s where my family is from. Jewelry needs to feel emotional to me or else I don’t wear it well,” she wrote alongside an Instagram post announcing the launch on Tuesday. The white agate is also inspired by the classic art deco a part of the old Havana aesthetic. Mendes' bling is available to shop on castjewlery.com, at Cast's Bay Area boutiques, plus nordstrom.com and select Nordstrom stores. A portion of the proceeds from the limited-edition collab will be donated to The Art of Elysium, an organization that empowers artists and community. “Cast makes fine jewelry that is easy to style and fun to wear. Their pieces can be enjoyed today and handed down to those you love," Mendes shared in a press release. "The chance to play and pick my favorite combination of colors for the amazing Flip Ring was a delight and to be able to partner to support The Art for Elysium, an organization I’ve supported over the years, was the icing on the cake."
