Chelsea Handler Clears Up Kissing Photo with Guy She Called 'My Baby' — He's a Bartender! 'So Many Drinks'

Chelsea Handler is setting the record straight after she shared a snap of herself kissing a mystery man who she referred to as “my baby.”

The comedian, 48, posted a picture of herself planting a kiss on the smiling man’s cheek on her Instagram Story Wednesday.

"This is my baby,” she captioned the image. “He is full of positivity and his body is my wonderland," she added, making a nod to singer John Mayer's 2001 hit "Your Body Is a Wonderland.”

"I love my baby and now I get to go back to work," she continued, referencing the end of the Writers' Guild of America (WGA) strike on Wednesday morning. “Two shows this weekend at the Beacon!!!! There are still tickets for Saturday show!”

Later that day, though, Handler clarified that she was in fact not confirming a hot new romance and the man was actually a bartender near her house in Spain. 

“I did not announce a new boyfriend on Instagram,” the Chelsea Lately host said in a video shared on her Instagram Story. “That man is the bartender right next door to my house in Mallorca and that’s why he’s my baby. OK? " she continued. "Baby doesn't mean boyfriend. Baby means he is my baby because he made me so many drinks." 

Handler also confirmed in a prior Story that she had landed back in the U.S. and her “vacation is over.” 

The star’s last relationship was with actor and comedian Jo Koy. The former couple split in July 2022 after 11 months of dating.

In December, Handler opened up about her “difficult” split from Koy, 52, on Brooke Shields' Now What? podcast.

"I really believed that this was my guy," she said. "I thought, 'Oh my God, I won.' Like I got everything. I have my career, I have respect, I have my family, I have so many friends, I have all of these things. And then I thought this was gonna be the person I spend my life with."

"Towards the end of the relationship, it just became clear that this was not my person," Handler added. "There were just some behaviors that we couldn't agree on… It felt to me like I would have to abandon myself, which maybe I would have been OK to do if I were 20 or 25, but I wasn't willing to do that. No matter how much I loved this person — and I loved him so much — I was not going to abandon myself."
