Host David Spade, and the panel of roasters – which included Peyton Manning, SNL‘s Pete Davidson and comedian Jeffrey Ross – addressed everything from his infamous sex tape to his ageless appearance and his many failed TV series. “Rob looks great for his age. Many people have wondered if he’s had any plastic surgery,” joked Spade. “Those same people have wondered if Caitlyn Jenner has had any plastic surgery.” But Lowe’s favorite roaster – and a standout with her savage attacks on Lowe and the night’s attendees – was Jewel. The singer responded to Lowe’s memoir where he accused her of being the only woman who did not want to kiss him while filming his series The Lyon’s Den. “I thought Jewel crushed,” said Lowe. “The comedians you expect to be great, and they are all great. So when it’s somebody like me, I don’t do this for a living, Jewel doesn’t do it for a living, and Peyton. So I was really, I was blown away with Jewel.” RELATED VIDEO: The First Thing Rob Lowe Bought with His Actor Salary Will Make You Awww As for the roughest joke, “I definitely don’t think there was one where I was like, ‘Oh my God, I just got destroyed,’ ” he said, “because I kind of got destroyed every single time.” Even with his wife Sheryl Berkoff and their two sons in the audience, Lowe took the jabs with ease. “They were all so funny, and I just love a good joke. A really well-crafted, good joke,” he said. “To be able to throw it out at everybody in a time when everything’s so PC and getting less and less fun, it was a really fun night. It really was. It’s like, if you’re in the NFL, hit hard. This is the NFL. You’re here to hit.” But when asked if he’ll ever speak to the members of his roasting panel again, Lowe had a one-word answer: “Never.” The Roast of Rob Lowe will air on Labor Day (10 p.m. ET) on Comedy Central.
