LaPaglia first talked about the tattoo in a TikTok from August 2023 when she did a tattoo tour of her ink. She talked through the stories behind each one before she showed off a tattoo that read "how lucky are we" on the back of her arm. "I got this matching with a bunch of friends in Vegas and we were very drunk," she explained, adding that she loved the placement even though the lyrics looked "morphed together." It's been a hell of a week but you're all grown now, There's smoke seepin' out of your bloody teeth. but you're home somehow." Fans previously speculated that the song could be about LaPaglia, though Bryan previously clarified he wrote the song after his dog Boston had to have emergency surgery, per American Songwriter. “Boston, our puppy was going into surgery," he wrote in the now-deleted post. On Oct. 22, Bryan announced on his Instagram Stories that he and LaPaglia broke up after the singer had "an incredibly hard year personally and struggled through some pretty severe things." "I thought it would be beneficial for both of us to go our different ways," he explained. "I am not perfect and never will be. Please respect Brianna's privacy and space in this and if you have it in your heart, mine too."
