Nicole Acosta has five years of experience working as a journalist and joined PEOPLE in 2022.

Prior to joining PEOPLE, Nicole worked as a writer and reporter for a number of digital brands. She previously worked on staff at Daily Voice, where she covered everything from breaking news to community happenings, and McCann Health, where she served as a copywriter focusing on healthcare advertising. She also worked as an intern for doNYC, where she researched and promoted events across the five boroughs.

Nicole served as the Managing Editor for The Impact, the school newspaper for Mercy College (now University.) During her two years as an intern, she was awarded four journalism awards by the New York Press Association for her original reporting on the opioid crisis in Westchester County, among many other human interest topics. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Media Studies/Journalism from Mercy College (now University) in 2019.

In her free time, Nicole enjoys watching sci-fi television shows, going to concerts, and planning her next trip.
