Ally Shapiro Breaks Off Engagement with Jordan Bilfeld 2 Months After Proposal

Ally Shapiro and Jordan Bilfeld have called it quits. 

The daughter of Real Housewives of New York City alum Jill Zarin ended her engagement to the VaynerMedia director just two months after he proposed, PEOPLE can confirm.

"After much reflection, [they have] made the difficult decision to end their engagement," Zarin told Page Six in a statement, shared on Wednesday, Oct. 31. "And as a family, we are focused on supporting [Ally] through this time. We appreciate your understanding and request privacy on this personal matter."

Insiders told the outlet that last week "a decision was made" to call off the engagement. Although friends of Shapiro and Bilfeld are reportedly shocked by the news, another source told the outlet on Thursday that there were already "issues" between them when they threw their engagement party in the Hamptons in late summer. 

In September, Bilfeld exclusively told PEOPLE about how he secretly organized his surprise proposal, which followed a beachside lunch in Mallorca with Zarin. "I had this whole thing planned," he said. "Jill let it slip the night before."

He then popped the question with a 5.25 carat platinum and diamond ring during a stroll to a nearby pool overlooking the ocean.

Bilfeld and Shapiro told PEOPLE at the time that they were in the early stages of wedding planning, and hoped to host a celebration for some 300 friends and family.

Shapiro has not publicly announced the split on social media, but she has hinted at being on her own. She has scrubbed her Instagram page of any photos from her engagement party. This week, she also posted multiple videos on TikTok of Zarin and her boyfriend, Gary Brody, helping move her into a studio apartment. Some videos were posted to emotional music.

Most recently, she posted a video, celebrating her upcoming birthday on Nov 1. Commenters were quick to notice her engagement ring was missing.

Meanwhile, Bilfeld has been quiet on social media, with pictures of Shapiro still on his Instagram page and has last post dating Aug. 15.
