Ali Wong Was This Weekend’s Biggest Fashion Risk-Taker: See Her Over-the-Top Awards Show Looks

Ali Wong is on a winning streak this awards season, and we're not talking about the trophies. Recently, the Beef star, 41, has been made risky and bold red carpet fashion choices that have continuously left us wanting more.

This weekend, the Golden Globe winner squeezed in three different awards show appearances in two days, meaning she wore just as many gowns. Just when we thought she couldn't outdo herself, Wong, styled by Tara Swennen, kept it coming with the high-fashion moments.

2024 SAG Awards

Wong attended the 2024 SAG Awards on Feb. 24 without her boyfriend Bill Hader, who had a work conflict. But who can say the actress was really solo when her 3D Iris Van Herpen dress was large enough to be a plus-one.

This laser-cut couture gown took up a decent amount of the carpet and looked alive with its tentacle-like attachments that surrounded Wong with diamond shapes.

Wong, who also wore dazzling jewels by Bucherer Fine Jewellery, told Laverne Cox on E!'s preshow that the dress was so humungous, she actually had to be escorted to the Shrine Auditorium in a sprinter van.

She also told Cox that usually she has to get her gowns altered because of her height but this one "fit like a glove." Yet, she added sky-high Brandon Blackwood platform heels underneath her dress for an additional few inches.

Of course, we had burning questions, like how did Wong not knock over whoever she was seated next to or how were bathroom breaks even possible in this one-of-kind number? We got the answers when Wong transformed her dress from this...

... to THIS. As seen in a behind-the-scenes video shared by Swennen on Instagram, it's confirmed that the embellishments were part of detachable sleeves that Wong removed after the carpet and Swennen carried throughout the night.

Underneath those eye-popping attachments lay a romantic column dress, featuring a sheer overlay on top and gradient pattern on the bodice and skirt, that hit the stage when Wong accepted the award for outstanding performance by a female actor for Beef.

2024 Producers Guild Awards

On Feb. 25, Wong made an appearance at the Producers Guild Award in another innovative look. Rather than choosing between a traditional suit or gown, she and Swennen decided to combine both in one extraordinary creation.

From a video posted to Swennen's Instagram, it seems as though the duo decided to pair a pleated button-up shirt and ruched skirt with a blazer custom-made with massive glove sleeves. The two also chose Versace glasses from LensCrafters and Pomellato earrings for accessories and Naked Wolfe combat boots.

2024 Film Independent Spirit Awards 

Within the same day, Wong went from full coverage to very little coverage with this Cong Tri gown, which was the comedian's sexiest outfit of the weekend.

The design's frontal view showed the sequins and ruffled halter neckline in all their glory, but the back was as skin-baring as can be courtesy of the major cutout, which Wong happily showed off to the cameras.
