📢 Today, the External Reporting Board approved three of its four #climate and #assurance proposals: ▶ A one year extension to the adoption provision for scope 3 GHG emissions disclosures ▶ A one year extension to the adoption provision for anticipated financial impacts disclosures ▶ A new one year adoption provision relating to the assurance of scope 3 GHG emissions The proposal to delay transition planning disclosures by an additional year was not adopted, on the basis of hearing strong user demand for this information. We have been discussing with the Financial Markets Authority - New Zealand executive the possibility of a class exemption to provide additional certainty to support the optional delay of assurance over scope 3 GHG emission disclosures. The FMA has advised that it intends to consult on this before the end of the year. ➡ Read more here: https://lnkd.in/g8iZwMUe

5,000 NABERS ratings certified this year – driving sustainability across Australia's skyline. In FY2024, we reached a significant milestone by certifying over 5,000 ratings, with 97% completed within just 10 days of submission. This achievement wouldn't have been possible without our dedicated Assessor network and the continued evolution of tools like NABERS Perform, which streamlines the certification process. Ivana Brown, our Head of Operations and Standards, reflects on the progress: "Australia’s skyline is evolving, and our focus is on making the journey to sustainability simpler and faster for businesses across the country." Wow, what a wrap up! Some brilliant work by the team at Samson Corporation, delivering high-performing, energy efficient buildings 👏
We have achieved high NABERSNZ ratings across a number of our buildings. Following rigorous assessments the energy efficiency of six of our buildings have been rated ranging between 5-6 Stars, performing at market leading and aspirational levels. And it’s not just the newer builds, it’s great to see some of our older buildings matching up and also performing really well! Optimum energy efficiency in our buildings means reduced costs and better living for our tenants, not to mention the positive affect on global energy consumption.
