After many years of planning, I am incredibly proud of Precinct’s role in delivering Te Manaaki – Auckland’s Giant Christmas Tree. Alongside Heart of the City, and with the support of Auckland Council City Council (via the city centre targeted rate) this 18m tree has already been proven to attract and delight families and visitors to the city centre. It’s great to see so many people take selfies and photos in front of the tree and we decided it would be the perfect backdrop for our annual team photo. I would love to see more corporates do the same and encourage any of our amazing clients based in Auckland to capture a similar photograph!! On behalf of the Precinct team, I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas.

Last week Scott Pritchard took Stuff on a tour of our Wynyard Quayside development in Wynyard Quarter, speaking with Miriam Bell about the transformation of this area over the last decade. Wynyard Quarter has attracted many businesses to relocate to the area, driven by the benefits of its connected location, proximity to the waterfront and the great parks, eateries, restaurants and hospitality it offers. There are some truly unique opportunities for both retailers and businesses to move into the development, which opens early next year. Deloitte NZ has announced the finalists for this year’s #DeloitteTop200 awards and we are delighted to be a top 3 finalist in the @Snowflake Top 200 Sustainability Leadership Award. This award celebrates businesses driving positive outcomes in relation to long-term environmental, social, and economic impact – something that’s closely aligned with our strategy to generate and regenerate sustainable value for people and place. 📷 Our first cross-laminate timber building, currently under construction in Wynyard Quarter. Later next year, this building will become Generator New Zealand Pipiri Lane, the second co-working site and also a large event space in the Wynyard Quarter Innovation Precinct. We can't wait! We are thrilled to share that from 23 November, a magical new Christmas tree, Te Manaaki will make its spectacular debut - at a majestic 18.4 m, decorated with over 10,000 LED lights, 4,000 Pōhutukawa flower decorations and over 200 giant baubles. A gift for the city through a partnership between Precinct and Heart of the City, with support from Auckland Council and the city centre targeted rate, it will transform Te Komititanga in lower Queen Street into a vibrant festive hub, drawing people into the city centre and creating a welcoming focal point for celebration and connection.
