I was initially engaged for three months to develop an overarching communications and engagement strategy and provide advice on communications resourcing, project planning, and public consultation systems and processes.
I was subsequently retained to support the Waitohi Picton terminal Covid-19 fast-track consenting process and establish the recommended channels, systems, and processes. In my work for the Waitohi Picton project I advised the project team, facilitated mana whenua, key stakeholder and community engagement, and developed communication channels, key messages and content. -

The Northern Gateway tollroad was the first ‘greenfields’ project to be progressed under the Land Transport Management Act 2003, Transit New Zealand’s largest-ever capital project and the first state highway to be progressed through tolling. This award was won for the project's comprehensive PR, communication and community relations programme, which I developed and led during my secondment to this project.
