For the construction sector, it has not been an easy year. In this article, our CEO Troy Coyle (Wahine/She/Her) overviews the need for greater pipeline predictability and stability in vocational education. “It would certainly help the sector if there was a bilaterally supported pipeline of national infrastructure projects, with a secured budget allocation, that was consciously timed to ensure stability of construction.”, she says. This innovation will enable the local production of lower emissions steel reinforcing, transforming the landscape for sustainable construction. 🛠️ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿? 🔗 Lower emissions steel: Two clever steelmaking blends are set to slash emissions. 🛡️ Transparent EPDs: Pacific Steel is teaming up with thinkstep-anz to release environmental product declarations (EPDs) by May 2025, helping you make informed, sustainable choices for your projects. 🚢 Local matters: Locally produced means lower-emission steel to cut down the carbon footprint right here in Aotearoa.
