Yesterday, Anjana Sharma kicked off her day with the much-anticipated launch of GCC V2.0, supporting global GHG emission reduction projects, addressing stakeholder concerns on integrity and transparency in GHG projects. The new version simplifies navigation, offers multiple certification labels, and includes valuable registry updates for project ease and flexibility. Notable mention: new updates on ARECs (Additional Renewable Energy Certificates)! Following this, she stepped into negotiations focused on finalizing the Climate Fund for loss and damage due to climate change—an essential piece for global resilience. Later, intense discussions emphasized that business model transformation is critical for achieving climate transition, highlighting the need for alignment between businesses and government policy. Yesterday, our expert Sandeep Lele participated in an insightful session hosted by the World Green Economy Organization (WGEO), alongside Dr. Lucy Wallace from EIT Food, David Roth from Amazon, and moderator Peter Prengaman, Global Climate and Environment News Director from The Associated Press. The panel explored strategies for sustainable consumption, ethical sourcing, and traceability, and the role of policy in promoting sustainability across retail. Retail, responsible for approximately 25% of global GHG emissions, faces unique challenges as it leans heavily on its supply chain to create real sustainability momentum.
