Get to know: Tobias Rodemann, our esteemed keynote speaker for SSCI 2025. In Trondheim this March, Tobias will speak on the topic “A Practical Example of an Industrial Campus Energy Management System—Real World Challenges and Success Stories.” Currently a chief scientist at the Honda Research Institute Europe, Tobias has contributed to approximately 100 scientific publications and patents and has an h-index of 20 according to Google Scholar. Though he earned his PhD in computational neuroscience (2003), his most recent research focuses on energy and new mobility services. At SSCI 2025, attendees will hear Tobias share data from a testbed designed for research on energy management and data monitoring and built at the R&D campus of the Honda Research Institute. His presentation will show how smart management of energy flows in buildings in combination with renewable energy sources and EV charging can not only reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions, but also provide a rich set of challenges for Computational Intelligence and data science methods.
