Many of our projects will benefit future generations – clean energy is essential for the long term wellbeing of people and planet. But for thousands of children, this winter is life-threatening in an already precarious situation. War and climate change have led to more children needing help than ever before. Right now, Redd Barna is working to provide children and families with warm clothes, winter boots, wool blankets, heaters, and other protection to help them survive. Therefore we at Cloudberry Clean Energy have given this year's Christmas gift to Redd Barna, thereby contributing to helping the children who need it most. In addition to our donation to Redd Barna, from the Cloudberry Group, our local offices have chosen to support local charities and initiatives in Eskilstuna, Gothenburg and Karlstad. Contributing to the important work of Göteborgs Stadsmission, Karlstads Stadsmission and local sports organisations Kjula IF and Jäders IF in the community near our windfarm Sundby. New data from the Copernicus ECMWF show that it is effectively certain that 2024 is going to be the warmest year on record, surpassing the critical threshold of 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. Sixteen months in a seventeen month period have seen air temperature exceed 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. This alarming trend underscores the urgent need for transformative action. Let´s not beat around the bush what is needed: Transitioning to renewable energy sources is not just a necessity; it's our responsibility to future generations. Building on the success of Munkhyttan – municipality approve three more turbines Three turbines built. Three more to go – south of our current windfarm Munkhyttan in Lindesbergs kommun. We are thrilled to announce that the municipality of Lindesberg earlier this week approved the application for phase two of Munkhyttan windfarm to be moved forward to the County Administrative Board’s Environmental Assessment Delegation. According to statistics from Svensk Vindenergi, Swedish municipalities used their so called veto in 12 out of 16 cases during the first 6 months. Since then, new legislation has been put forward, stating that the equivalent of the property tax from wind farms shall be allocated directly to the municipalities. This give reason to look slightly more positive on the possibilities to move more projects forward. Sebastian Prause, head of onshore wind in Sweden, and also project manager for the Munkhyttan project: – This project is a good example of how we work as a junction box between projects, community and capital. The Munkhyttan project is developed by a local partner, that focus on getting the environmental permit. Then we have the muscle to get the project built. With the first phase of Munkhyttan being a success, we are happy to see phase two moving along further in the permitting process. We are proud to report that our efforts have resulted in 115 766 tCO2e avoided emissions so far in 2024. – We are at the heart of the green transition, providing essential solutions to the climate crisis. The world urgently needs more renewable energy. If we don't succeed in deployment, it will be extremely costly, in a number of ways, says Ingrid Bjørdal, Chief Sustainability Officer at Cloudberry. According to recent findings in "The Economic Commitment of Climate Change," published in Nature magazine, the global economy already face significant income reductions due to climate impacts. The report shows how the world economy is already committed to an income reduction of 19% within the next 26 years – independent of future emission choices. The report highlights the urgent need for substantial emission reductions to mitigate these economic damages – through renewable energy adoption, enhancing energy efficiency, and implementing carbon pricing mechanisms. Strong operational third quarter Despite historically low electricity prices in the Nordics, our flexible platform and committed team continue to advance the transition to a sustainable future. We are growing renewables together and demonstrate how it is possible to deliver on financial stability while also significantly contribute to reducing emissions, creating lasting value for our stakeholders and future generations.   – Our strategy is working. We report a strong operational performance in the third quarter, driven by diversification across technologies and price areas.
