💡 Did you know that for every wind turbine Jan De Nul installs offshore, we make sure 1.500 meters of bubble curtain mitigate the noise? It’s our way to limit the impact on marine life during the installation of wind farms.   I learned this today during one of the Expert Sessions offered by @JanDeNulGroup. You can see the bubbles clearly on the picture of our heavy lift vessel Les Alizés. The bubble curtains lie in a double ring around the wind turbine. With each ring that the sound waves have to pass through, their power and range decreases. To give you an idea: without the bubbles, the impact would be felt up to 11km.
