🌍 Tech Respect: Small Changes, Big Impact At yellow.global | B Corp, we believe respect isn’t just for people—it extends to the tools we use and the planet we share. Tech respect is about rethinking how we interact with technology, ensuring our choices reflect care for our environment and future generations. Here’s the reality: over 50 million metric tons of e-waste are discarded each year. Imagine mountains of laptops, smartphones, and gadgets piling up—each one a lost opportunity to reuse, repurpose, or recycle. That’s not progress. That’s waste. But what if businesses led the charge for change? What if we stopped seeing tech as disposable and started treating it as the valuable resource it is? At Yellow, we’re walking the talk. Every month, we set ourselves internal challenges designed to inspire action, from keeping active to protecting our planet. This month, we’re focusing on reducing e-waste at home and in our home offices. It’s been incredible to see the creative ways our team is finding to give their old tech a second life—whether it’s repairing devices, donating unused gadgets, or ensuring proper recycling. These challenges are about more than individual actions—they’re about building habits and creating ripples of change that extend far beyond our organization. So, we’re asking: what can your business do to show tech respect? Can you extend the life of your devices? Transition to more sustainable solutions? Ensure nothing ends up in a landfill? Tech respect isn’t just a buzzword; it’s a mindset. It’s about creating systems that work for the planet, not against it. Because at the end of the day, the tech we use should enable a better future—not hinder it. Let’s keep this discussion going! What steps have you taken to reduce e-waste, whether at work or at home? Share your thoughts—we’re always inspired by what others are doing. #TechRespect #PlanetPositive #SustainableBusiness #EWaste #MakeItYellow Jane Birkin Emma White Prachi Wasnikar (She/Her) Katrina Thornely Neil Schambra Stevens Alexander Wigford-Morgan

The yellow team is full of ideas and inspiration following last week's event in Liverpool. 💛 Did you know that Liverpool has been awarded the first-ever UN Accelerator City under UN Climate Change’s Entertainment and Culture for Climate Action (ECCA) programme? Did you know Liverpool is the most filmed UK City outside of London? This status means that Liverpool will now be the place that tries innovative new ways to rapidly decarbonise the live music and TV/Film production sectors. All sectors of the arts industry attended the event, which focused on collaborating to make a real difference. We heard some incredible speakers, such as Chris Packham, Dale Vince, and Es Devlin. The themes were clear 💚 Collective knowledge will rapidly increase the speed of change. 💚 Perfectionism is a myth-we don't have time to wait around to be perfect. 💚Being curious, careful observation, and kind are key values that impact change. Ecotricity and its partners sponsored the event, and it was refreshing to see how they have worked with artists such as Massive Attack to change how we organise, power and execute live events. We took away some useful tips for producing our assets sustainably, which we will use as a creative team. We cannot wait to return next year and see this amazing city's progress. Exciting news from Liverpool! 🌍🎶 Under the UN Climate Change’s Entertainment and Culture for Climate Action (ECCA) programme, the city is leading the charge to decarbonise live music and TV/Film production. Ecotricity is proud to support this world-leading programme, alongside amazing partners, to showcase what’s possible—from low-carbon live shows featuring Idles, Massive Attack, and Nile Rodgers & CHIC, to an industry summit focused on deep decarbonisation. 🌍 Happy World Kindness Day! 🌍 At yellow.global, kindness isn't just a nice-to-have value—it's the foundation of everything we do. As a fully remote team with no central office, we’ve experienced both the incredible benefits of flexibility and the unique challenges of not having those spontaneous "water cooler" moments to connect. But here’s how we make kindness work in our remote world: ✨ Weekly Check-ins: Every Monday morning, we kick off our week with a team check-in. We ask everyone, "How are you feeling? What are you up to?" Whether someone is working from a sunny beach or a cozy home office, we share how we’re truly doing. It's our way of starting the week with care. ✨ Active WhatsApp Group: Throughout the week, we share our wins, struggles, and everything in between. It’s not just about work; it's about being human. At the end of the week, we ask, "What’s something you're proud of?"—a beautiful way to close out and celebrate together. ✨ Quarterly Challenges: To keep our team connected, we run fun, team-building challenges focused on movement, mindfulness, and sustainability. From stepping up our fitness game to sharing moments of mindfulness, these challenges unite us, no matter where we are. At yellow, kindness is at the heart of our mission: to create better work, and make work better, by helping companies create happier, more caring cultures. We believe that kindness doesn’t cost a thing, but it can transform everything—whether it’s a client relationship or a simple check-in with a colleague. So today, on #WorldKindnessDay, let’s make an extra effort to spread kindness: 💛 Smile at a stranger when you pass them on the street. 💛 Be present when you ask a loved one about their day. 💛 Take a moment to ask your colleagues how they're feeling and really listen.💛 Because kindness is the greatest gift we can give.🌟 #YellowGlobal #DareToCare #RemoteWork #CompanyCulture #WorldKindnessDay2024

Hello 👋🏼, My name is Jane and I'm an Activist. Yes, this sounds like a confession. But actually, it's a realisation. My "A-ha" moment after the Blue Earth Summit last week.💙 I "snuck" into the "Corporate Activism" session Ben Tolhurst from Business Declares hosted. I was trying not to be noticed. I had massive imposter syndrome about being at the workshop. My view of Activism was in line with what I've since looked up in the dictionary definition: "vigorous campaigning to bring about political or social change". Which I naively thought I didn't or even couldn't do. Especially in the "world of sustainability". Surely, it means I have to be a complete expert and 100% full-time in the field to make my campaign effective?🤔 But NO - how wrong I was. The session shed light on a more accessible and realistic view of Activism. The panel brought to life their hugely varied versions of Activism. The definition I took away is: "Activism is about your passion and love for things you care about made visible! (linked to the Latin word: "Actus": ie. Doing and Driving) Now 💡, all the sessions made sense. I can and am already making a difference! My personal purpose, "Enjoy the journey and bring others with me", aligns with the call to action. Enter the team yellow.global | B Corp.😊 Activism is what's needed in the business world today. Here's what I saw and where yellow.global are on a mission to focus. 👫👭👬🌳🥾BUILD COMMUNITY: Especially when it comes to movement and getting outside. Encourage and develop like-minded communities and create a support network for positive action. "Be with nature instead of trying to conquer it." Thanks, Melissa Moss Bronwen Foster-Butler, for your great examples of how we can all help remove barriers to access. 💙🌊REALISE AND RELEASE OUR PERSONAL POWER: To help protect the oceans' future. The iconic picture from Hanli Prinsloo next to the Whale shark shows how tiny we are in the water, yet out of it; we have the most significant power to change the systems we work in so that small ripples create a wave of change. 🔎🧩✅SIMPLIFY THE SUSTAINABILITY CONVERSATION: 👏🏼 to Alexandra Smith on the "Female founders panel" A clear case for giving what we do an ROI. It's a complex puzzle, but if we consider it a network of possible solutions, everyone can choose their lane, measure it appropriately and make a difference in society. 📈Finally, the last word from James Ghaffari B Lab UK: He wants us to address the 🐘 in the room! 💵: As a newly certified B Corp, we have even more permission and possibility to be brave about the growth conversations. What does growth need to look like, and what could impact mean? How can we grow responsibly and celebrate broader impact measures for people and the planet and acceptable profit? So there you have it; my name is Jane. I'm an activist, and I'm passionate about making work better. Let's all do that together. 💛 Jon Khoo IAMWATER Ocean Impact dryrobe Ltd

Day 3 at Blue Earth Summit was all about reconnecting with nature and reminding ourselves why we’re here, building solutions to regenerate our natural world 🌍 This day was dedicated to stepping outside, sharing experiences, and gaining fresh perspectives in nature, a vital part of the Summit. As a community, we understand that regenerating our planet is no small task—it’s demanding, it’s challenging, but together we are stronger.
