Don't think interruptions harm you? Here's a fascinating insight: A paper by Gloria Mark describes research into the effects of interrupted work. Does it hurt your work? Does it have other effects? You would expect that interruptions make us deliver low quality work. Well, that's not what this study found: the quality of the work was the same. It actually was done in less time! Good news? Well, no: we're paying for it. With more stress, and higher frustration levels. So if you think you can handle the interruptions because your work is not hurt by it, you might be right.
