Get to know our Nudgers! Meet Kavya Nair, a Ferrero participant of the 2024 Nudge Global Impact Challenge! We asked her a few questions to get to know her, her vision and her Impact Plan! 𝘛𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘶𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧, 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦! My name is Kavya, an enthusiastic and passionate packaging professional, currently working in one of the renowned FMCG companies. I feel vulnerability and empathy are my strong suits which help me resonate with other’s emotions and drive me to work towards creating a social impact. As a packaging technologist, I strongly support plastic as a material for packaging. However, the current trend of portraying plastic as the only villain has, in many ways, misled people about the true environmental challenges. Looking ahead, I believe it’s crucial to help people understand that the issue isn’t with the material itself, but rather with its unregulated and improper use. In my view, plastic is a sustainable option when used responsibly, and my approach focuses on promoting its correct end-use to ensure its benefits are realized without harm. 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘐𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘵 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵? My Impact Plan focuses on upcycling Ferrero’s plastic scrap into valuable merchandising products. These items could be utilised during Ferrero events, turning waste into purposeful assets. The initiative involves collaborating with third-party suppliers skilled in traditional craftsmanship. These partners would collect the waste, transform it, and deliver the finished products. By doing so, we aim to achieve two key objectives: reducing the company’s waste footprint and supporting employment opportunities. 𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘥𝘪𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘫𝘰𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘕𝘶𝘥𝘨𝘦 𝘎𝘭𝘰𝘣𝘢𝘭 𝘐𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘵 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘦? The moment I saw Ferrero’s collaboration with Nudge, I knew I had to at least give it a try. I knew it would be a platform to be around like-minded people, who all care and are already doing their bit to save our planet and people. The Nudge Global Impact Challenge is a journey of growth, inspiration, and collaboration, bringing together emerging leaders from across the globe to explore how they can create meaningful and lasting change. It’s a unique programme designed to challenge perspectives, spark ideas, and offer a diverse range of sessions tailored to different needs and interests. One of the many memorable moments this year was the morning reflection session with singer Celine Cairo, a powerful reminder of the role creativity and introspection play in driving impact. Later, participants delved into the complexities of impact measurement, exploring not just how to track outcomes but also how to uncover the broader narrative of change their actions create. Another highlight was the exploration of systemic change, which challenged participants to look beyond surface-level solutions and tackle the root causes of societal and environmental challenges. These sessions are just a glimpse of the wide array of experiences designed to inspire and equip participants on their journey to make a difference. What makes the Challenge truly special, however, is the deep connections that form along the way. Bringing together like-minded individuals from all walks of life creates a unique space where collaboration and inspiration flourish. These connections remind us that impact is never created in isolation but through shared vision and mutual support. 𝘛𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘶𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧, 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦! I’m a young, engaged individual passionate about nature, social impact, and sustainability. My focus is systemic change in agriculture and empowering youth with social entrepreneurship and impact concepts. I thrive in intercultural, multidisciplinary environments that push me to grow, and I value self-development. I love music, sports, and outdoor adventures. Grateful for my education in Bioscience Engineering and Heterodox Economics and transformative experiences abroad, I aim to give back by providing young people with opportunities to find their path and empowering them to create positive change. My Impact Plan is associated with Academics for Development (AFD), a non-profit that gave me a life-changing experience in South Africa. AFD empowers students through global projects and on-campus events, inspiring them to have social impact. I joined the Governing Board to further its mission of unlocking youth potential and creating ripple effects of change. I aim to align AFD more closely with its foundation in social impact, enhancing our brand visibility, sharing inspiring stories, and ensuring our events, workshops, and operations prioritise sustainability. By harnessing momentum in the impact scene, we hope to expand our reach and relevance. 𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘥𝘪𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘫𝘰𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘕𝘶𝘥𝘨𝘦 𝘎𝘭𝘰𝘣𝘢𝘭 𝘐𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘵 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘦? Zoom out, look at your daily life, and come up with concrete steps to personify the change you envision. Reflecting on the transformative journey of the 2024 Nudge Global Impact Challenge! ✨🌍 Two weeks ago, a remarkable group of young leaders gathered for three immersive days to explore the complexity of impact, reimagine sustainable leadership, and co-create visions for a better future. From thought-provoking sessions like Collective Leadership for Impact: Choices and Actions with Jonathan Gosling, to hands-on workshops in Systemic Change with Rahmin B., Roxana Dela Fiamor and Gilberto Morishaw, and Embodiment of Impact: Aligning Head, Heart & Hands with Rick Koster ♾, participants engaged deeply with the interconnected themes of self, nature, and the role of business in today's world. We look back at this experience with a heart full of gratitude, a head full of ideas, and hands full creating impact for a better future! The past few days were an amazing 3-day learning experience in the Netherlands that kicked of the coming 6-month journey of the Nudge Global Impact Challenge. Surrounded by participants from all over the globe, we shared an incredible space for introspection and true conversation. Through facilitated sessions, we discovered new ways of doing and being in the sustainability scene and learned about moving collectively, organic and planned change, how to get better ideas through design thinking exercises, and positioning yourself within your own plans and stakeholder system. I took away personal reflections, but most of all realized once again that it all comes down to the people you share with and that we each carry the capacity to inspire and push each other. I want to express my gratitude for being selected as a Wild Card participant, which enables me to deploy my personal Sustainability Impact Plan over the coming 6 months for a project for social entrepreneurship student organization Academics for Development 🤫 (and with systemic change in the food chain always in mind as well ;))

In the last thursday i had the beautiful opportunity to go back to Heeze, Netherlands this time as a pitcher at the Nudge Global Impact Challenge presenting the project i have been developing since the beggining of this year at Ferrero. It was a incredible moment, and i couldn’t be prouder to be back there with all the pitchers and participants of this year edition! Participants, drawn from diverse backgrounds and industries, come together to collaborate with like-minded peers and thought leaders in the Nudge network. The immersive environment fosters the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and best practices, enabling participants to learn from each other’s successes and challenges. This collective approach ensures that the insights gained go beyond individual experiences, emphasising the importance of collective impact in addressing global challenges. Leadership development is at the heart of the Learning Experience. Through interactive workshops, discussions, and hands-on activities, participants hone their leadership skills to drive durable and meaningful change. The event is structured to challenge conventional thinking and encourage participants to explore innovative solutions that align with sustainable development goals. By working closely with peers, mentors, and experts, participants not only develop their personal leadership capacities but also gain a deeper understanding of how to mobilise teams and communities towards a shared vision of impact, with the goal of driving systemic change.
